Job Title: Food Production Utility Specialist - Cross-Training Opportunity

Location: Milbank, SD
Schedule: Full-time, rotating shifts

About the Role

We are seeking a Food Production Utility Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert in whey processing. This advanced role is critical to ensuring operational excellence, training team members, and driving continuous improvement across the whey plant. You will be the go-to resource for technical expertise and troubleshooting, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the process resource for whey processing operations, including Lactose, WPC, Whey, and Whey Evaporation systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving for complex operational issues.
• Provide hands-on training and mentorship to operators and new hires.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee CIP (Clean-in-Place) processes and chemical handling with strict adherence to PPE requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
• Drive process improvements to optimize efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma; technical certifications or advanced training preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment, with proven expertise in food processing preferred.
• Skills: Strong leadership, advanced troubleshooting, and computer proficiency. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Other: Must be 18 or older and be able to acquire a forklift certification.
