Advanced Lead Engineer - Additive Applications & Process, General Electric Company, West Chester Township, OH:
Execute on customer, business, and program goals for additive manufacturing binder jet system processes. Provide mechanical and manufacturing engineering support for additive manufacturing application design, process development, and machine technology. Orchestrate all additive manufacturing processes from design to final part by developing chemistry, processes, machine parameter sets, and application design best practices and to optimize material and part quality on metal binder jet processes. Work directly with customers to consult and influence in all phases of development and implementation for the applications requiring this technology. Ensure requirements are well-defined and verifiable through validation. Lead the planning and execution of Design of Experiments (DOEs) that align to customer outcomes based on application and machine needs. Provide technical and cross functional leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project across machine design, the process, the chemistry, materials, and design best practices. Execute programs using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. Lead and actively participate in internal tollgate reviews, design reviews, technical reviews as well as external customer reviews. Lead and coordinate resources and plans for root cause investigations into process, application, and system issues. Assure complete documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures and business needs. Own the process technology development and maturation for metal binder jet technology development focused on customer program applications.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (any). Employer will accept a combination of relevant academic coursework and work experience evaluated as the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Four years of experience in manufacturing or engineering processes within an aerospace, transportation, medical, power, renewable energy, oil and gas, or other technical industry. Employer will accept pre- or post- degree experience including pre-Bachelor's degree experience.
Work experience to include:
Two (2) years of experience with Binder Jet Additive Manufacturing process;
Three (3) years of experience with direct customer consultancy;
Three (3) years of experience with Additive Manufacturing;
Three (3) years of experience with Process parameter development in additive manufacturing;
Three (3) years of experience with developing shop floor work instructions and routers; and
Three (3) years of experience with creating Design of Experiments (DOEs) to solve design or process issues and aid with root cause investigations.
Any and all experience may be gained concurrently. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at the General Electric Company offices in West Chester Township, OH.
Approximately 25% domestic and international travel required for customer meetings, and trade shows or conferences. Employer to pay travel expenses.
